All,

I will be in Tasmania the last week in September, tentatively planning on staying in Hobart, Bischeno and Queenstown. I will be primarily shooting 4x5 (Velvia 100F) and some 35mm (very little). Any suggestions on locations, must see places, etc. would be appreciated.

Cradle Mountain, near Deloraine, is stunning. There are great locations within easy walking distance, and others which can take days to walk to. Cataract Gorge is very close to Launceston and is worth a look.

Hi Roteague,
Kevin's is a great suggestion. Cradle Mountain also has a gallery dedicated to landscape/nature photography of Australia, including work by some world class large format photographers. I havn't been there myself, but have a glossy book of the work there and would make a trip especially in the future.
Another possibility is Freycinet National Park (fraysinay) which has stunning scenery. Lots of pink granite and clear blue skies. We stayed there last Christmas and really enjoyed it.

all the best.

John's suggestion is also great. Freycinet is brilliant. I haven't been there yet but have seen many great photos.
