Wow, I'm amazed! Thanks Ruediger and Laurent for the updates, I'm thoroughly delighted that it's found its way into such great hands, and more than a little chaotic to boot.

If it makes it home, I promise I'll make a little book for everyone who pressed the shutter!

David.

Wow, a book with all the images, sounds like fun too.

I have a similar project going on here in Germany as part of a German Nikon Forum. Although most of the members in this forum use digital cameras there are at least enough people that, when I announced the idea within 23 hours I had 37 people on the project, enough to fill a film.

Now my little FM-2 is on its way through Germany with some postal deliveries and some personal meet-up to give the camera to the next participant. It started its way 18 month ago and probably needs around 3 months more.

Once the camera is home again I am going to develop the film and make enlargements of all images which I put together into an album which itself is going the same way back as the camera.

Cheers
Rüdiger

Laurent, I've PM'd you my address. Take your time with the camera and then send it over.

Do I have to shoot something specific (urban scene, maybe, or a landmark of the city) or can I shoot anything?

How many frames can I spend?

I forgot to mention the Olympus is now on it's way to Greece !

I shot 3 frames (plus one I wasted as I forgot focusing !)

We should do 2 or 3 frames each, hopefully we can get a roll of film developed before January.

January, 2012 ?

Thank you Laurent, I'll let you know when I receive it.

Hopefully the camera will leave Greece before May is over - who wants to be the next recipient..?

Tres cool, mon ami. Do you recall what number the frame counter was at?

I just got the Olympus Trip and, man, it's such a nice camera..!

The frame counter indicates that only 10 exposures have been made so far, so I intend to spend 4 or 5 frames - I want to capture the Parthenon and other well-known places around Athens, and then maybe I'll get a portrait or two.

Since this camera's chaotic journey is slower than expected, I'll try to be finished before the end of May, so who wants to be next? I can send it anywhere in the world.

Fantastic progress & at 10 frames, the little Trip could visit quite a few new places. Don't anyone worry about how slow the going is -- it's about the quality of the journey!

I am willing to show it the redwoods...

Sign me up, I'm a scatterbrain! How about someone sends me a nearly-full one, I'll shoot the last couple of frames, process and scan the roll, host the images on the web, reload the camera (I have two spare rolls of Ektar and no more 35mm camera to put them in) and send it on afresh.

I've offered to make prints & a book for all recipients of my Oly Trip, so that one is covered. But there were supposed to be two other cameras in circulation. Ron, Joel, have those surfaced anywhere?

Hi David,

The Chintzy little camera that I sent out, has probably disintegrated by now ...

OK, so the little Oly has had enough of Athens, Greece (unfortunately I didn't take it along to any riots) and wants to see the redwoods...

Vaughn, please PM me your address so that I can get the ball rolling again.

I now have the camera! I'll take it into the redwoods next week!

How many images do I take...and who gets it next?
