View Full Version : Coming clean in MA I've been lurking here for a while and just today decided to say hi. It wasn't until I read all the notes from people who live in MA and NH that I decided to come clean. It sure is nice to know that I have a lot of neighbors that are into analog photography. I live along the MA/NH border.
I'm just getting back into the hobby after a long hiatus. I've been shooting mostly B&W for a long time in both 35mm and medium format (6x4.5). I recently bought a Toyo 4x5 and I'm playing with that.
Dan Francesco 08-21-2004, 07:26 PM Welcome Dan. Enjoy playing with the Toyo. I assure you it wont be long before you crave for 8x10 (of course I am talking my own book here). LF work is addicting. papagene 08-21-2004, 07:34 PM Dan,
Welcome to the site, it's a great place to visit.
If you are interested in the get together, please PM me with your information.
Watch out for Francesco ;) his work has me craving an 8x10!!
gene Welcome Dan, there are a lot of us here who have recently returned to photography after a long lay off.
juan JHannon 08-21-2004, 08:00 PM Good to hear from you Dan. Looks like there are quite a few of us in the area. Like yourself, I am also starting to do some work with a large format camera (Korona 5X7). Hope to see you when the NE meeting happens.
John Ed Sukach 08-21-2004, 08:03 PM Welcome, Dan, From NE Mass, - Ipswich. jnanian 08-21-2004, 08:19 PM hey dan
welcome! have fun with that 4x5
i'm in rhode island
( that renegade state south of massachusetts ) :)
hope to see you around -
john Flotsam 08-21-2004, 09:26 PM I disagree with Francesco.
The only reason I use a 4x5 is for the movements. Most of the time I shoot rollfilm in it anyway. I have no desire to move in the direction of even larger formats. I love shooting with old, manual everything, 35mm SLRs. That' not to say that I don't enjoy viewing the astounding images produced by Francesco and those who are dedicated to shooting the big stuff, it just shows that people can follow their own interests in completely different directions and still fall under the great common umbrella that is analog photography.
Welcome, Dan. Shesh 08-22-2004, 10:40 AM Hi Dan,
I live along the MA-NH border too. PM me if you would like to meet. Gene too. AndyH 08-23-2004, 12:01 PM Let me join in the welcome wagon. I drive across the MA/NH border twice a day, but probably somewhat to the west of where you do it... L Gebhardt 08-23-2004, 01:07 PM I'm on the NH side of that border. Seems like there are alot of us in this area. Maybe we should setup a thread on our favorite places to shoot in the area. papagene 08-24-2004, 12:03 PM L Gebhardt - are you interested in getting together with other New England APUG'ers?
I am in the process of putting together an informal get together. If you are, please PM me with your phone # & e-mail address.

Francesco, thanks for the welcome. I keep wondering why I went with 4x5 instead of 8x10, but then I remember I need to carry everything with me and that brings me back to earth.
