Great video Bill.

As to the earlier question of "where to next year?", how about trying for Calumet again?

...how about trying for Calumet again?Yeah... and not on the busiest fall weekend next time. :)

Maybe winter? I also like Andrew's idea of North Shore in winter again.

Thanks, Mike!

That sounds good too.

Get some winter days and I'll see if I can make it up.

I'm definitely up for a winter trip. The last extended winter photo trip I took up north (several years ago) began in Ashland, WI which was our base camp for the first 3 days. From Ashland there is a lot to photograph from the area surrounding Chequamegon Bay to all around the Bayfield Peninsula, particularly the ice caves and the Apostle Islands. The next several days comprised of continuing on to Duluth and hugging the Lake Superior/MN coast and ending up in Grand Marais. -Marc

How were the falls around Munising?

We ended up not going to falls. It was reportedly a very dry summer in the UP, and on the boat trip they didn't even bother pointing out Spray Falls, and we didn't see it. It was pretty prominent from the boat on my prior trip, so it must have just been a trickle this time.

That's what my wife and I were told in Sept when we were at Lake Gogebic. I keep promising myself to hit several UP falls when they are at their flow peak. I'm guessing that might be very early in the year during snow melt. By the time we head up for vacation in Aug or Sept, not much flowing. Get to see a lot of rocks though. ;)
