Week 7 - Pulitzer 1949 - The Babe Bows Out - Nat Fein

Posted 11-27-2008 at 03:59 PM by two40
It has been two weeks since my last installment, longer since last I posted any work. I'm on a bit of a holiday, a break, taking a rest you see. I'm not sure how long it'll be but I planned a month off. Could be more but I'll do my best to continue with these installments consistently.

No mountains, no fast water, no endless prairies, no wild surf on our beaches (the very few without condos), no wide rivers (only creeks with self esteem issues), just wall to wall flat. FLAT! I must apologise for missing a week. I was too busy to even post a draft last week. I've actually been very busy this week as well but I've made the effort even though it is a rushed one. I hope you enjoy it despite my whinging.

Posted 11-10-2008 at 12:58 PM by TheFlyingCamera
Every so often, I go through a phase of wondering what my life would be like without photography. Without the giant sucking sound coming from my wallet that represents the hobby, what would I do with the money and the time freed up? I could take more vacations, go to more interesting places I haven't been to yet, I could get more work done around the house, heck, I could probably afford a bigger house!

I get this feeling periodically when I get frustrated with my progress or lack...

Thrift Store Classic Camera Diary

Posted 11-02-2008 at 02:41 AM by Suzie Place

I thought I'd give everyone a taste of what the Thrift Store experience is like in the San Francisco Bay Area.

It all began in August when I got the notion to buy an analog camera.
My best bet was Thrift Town in El Sobrante. There I bought a Minolta Hi-Matic 9 for 15 bucks. I liked it's James Bond looks, but was disapointed when I realized that the Hi-Matic 9 was not an SLR. I put the camera in the closet and forgot about it.
Later, I decided to try again. I went...
