A whole group of us went to Helsingborg to see the Sally Mann exhibit.

They had the "whole enchilada" on display - including the pictures from "What Remains" (and even the slightly infamous "Three Graces".

It was very interesting to see the change of technique from the rather straight (modern film, perfect lenses) in "Immediate Family" to the wet-collodion pictures with long exposure and sometimes seriously flawed lenses in the later work.

I noticed how some of the later pictures came so much to life - especially when viewed from a distance.

This was just fabulous.

The camera clug got a call from the hospital asking if we were willing to document the old eye clinic. Premises, people, possibly patients. The hospital pays for all and they want it in B&W.

Could be a lot of fun.

Our local photo club is now offically homeless - it was no longer a good idea to rent a permanent place since none of the facilities (studio, darkroom) were used a lot by the members. We auctioned off all the gear that was saleable and junked the rest.

In a sense it is a relief. Too much energy has - in my mind - been spent fighting a battle we simply could not win.

From now on we will focus on more important activities like: Showing and critiquing pictures, excursions, education nigth and visits to various photo exhibitions. We will also be able to lower the membership fee and hopefully attract more people.
