I have a darkroom capable of producing 16x20s now. I've really enjoyed the results but the process is more difficult and less fun. This can be even more so with Fiber base paper. It's harder to get in the speed easel, more ornery in the trays, takes forever to wash. It makes something more difficult even more difficult. However I do like how it looks and I know it's viewed as "more serious" than RC. Oh, and let's not forget the post drying curl and I have yet to get a dry mount press
So I've been reading Tim Rudman's Book and got some Arista Powder Lith AB and just had to give it a whirl. I read over the "how to" section of Tim's book several times, enough for a general idea to sink in but definitely not complete comprehension.
My first challenge was that I thought I had enough developer to make 1L when I actually had enough to make 1gal of each A and B. The largest container I had was 2L from our pop (soda) bottle collection (dang michigan deposits).

On Saturday (1/17/09) I decided it'd be fun to get some "snowy lighthouse" pictures. So I went online and found that a close, publicly accessable lighthouse would be the Tawas Point Lighthouse. So I got up a the butt-crack of dawn (5am for me) on Sunday, got ready and headed out. It's a 2hr drive to Tawas, MI from here so I was hoping to make sunrise.
After getting some McD's breakfast, gas, and a little miscommunication between me and my GPS, it turned into a 3hr drive.

Sometimes I feel like I live that. One example is that I just have a fundamental problem getting a horizon line level in the camera. I have spirit levels and they only seem to make things worse some how. I still try someteimes, but feel much more comfortable taking an "off balance" shot or a shot that simply doesn't need any
