this is a tweaked version of the industrial national bank building i posted in my gallery here at apug.
i'm not allowed to post this in the gallery here for good reason, it was not made
though traditional means, but instead through modern alchemy.
it's a detail of something i manipulated the color and levels ..

i love how the details in an extremely thin negative just magically appear when the
beam of light hits them, its like that magical agfa paper i have ...

anyhow, the whole print is on dpug, the sad sister who wants more friends.

thanks for lookin' !

hi bill ... i agree, and all last week thought about photographing
downtown providence some more .. but unfortunately it was rather wet and rainy and cold
so i will have to wait a few days / weeks ... downtown proviidence is a pretty crazy place really crowded building wise
until you get to exchange place ( kennedy plaza where i am standing in this photograph )
or south where you see the demolitions from the highways and renewal projects of the 50s/60s ...
    thanks !

This December I found myself seeking shelter in Westminster street under a canopy of the kind that once sheltered shoppers on entering downtown department stores, when they were king. And I was in fact under such a canopy. Across the street was a dazzlingly beautiful sort of French baroque building that caught my eye, but then that was overshadowed by the cool modern, almost furniture-like Kresge building. Beautiful! My daughter said "Kreg-guh, what's that?" "Kresge's!" I said. Like Woolworth, or Grants, or any of dozens of others. I think this deserves a planned attack, with large cameras.

    hi bill

    i agree 100% !
lots of cool stuff, and NARROW STREETS
its kind of funny, most people in prov look straight ahead or down, i am ALWAYS looking UP ..
maybe in a few months when it is warmer and not snowy i'll do as you suggest, and attack with a big camera
