instant happiness

last weekend my partner and i threw a birthday party. we had it at this wonderful whiskey bar/restaurant in san francisco named Nihon.

i love introducing my friends to different cameras, so i usually bring one as an accessory to such an occasion.

this time i decided to dust off my polaroid spectra 1200. i had to go through a reseller on amazon to get film for it, but i managed to acquire four 10-packs.

i brought it out at the restaurant and it was an instant hit! everybody wanted to play with it. i think half the party-goers took shots with it and each watched the prints develop. some people talked about old polaroid cameras they once had. it was fun to watch people connect with it. i took home 40 polaroids, most of which i scanned and posted to flickr the following morning.
