its been a long while since i have made a retina print
too long ...
i was testing a new toy and made a retina print this afternoon ..
it was a 2 hour exposure ( 12noon to about 2pm )
not sure what the aperture was, or make of the lens ..
its an old brass one purchased years ago from a fellow appugger who donated
proceeds to a charity for post haiti earthquake relief ... i have a few other lenses

I had an idea for a Valentine's picture that I wanted to try and then give to my daughter and her fiance.
I have a 5X7 B&W picture of them I shot and printed in a frame that I put in the background to be shot slightly out of focus.
Focused in the foreground I artfully placed (to the best of my artful ability) a blue and white china cup and saucer filled with all colors of conversation hearts with a few 'good phrases' ones scattered around it that I could focus on as well as a single
It is done. Rewind two weeks. I really need to get upstairs and clean out that closet. Rewind three years and two months. I need to make a break from photography for a while. Just sell everything. I am getting depressed because it is in the house and not being used.

the past few days it has been extremely cold
at least for around here ...we are at zone 6B so the coldest is 6 below
it might be warm for some, and cold for others ... but it is kind of cold for me to deal
so i hunkered down and made some chicken soup ...

It suddenly dawned on me.
NOW I get it.
You opened your arms and knowledge to me asking for nothing in return. You gave me advice when I asked for it, praise when I probably didn't deserve it, and a place to store some of my most precious possessions. Always, asking nothing in return.
