The latest updates were to the homepage. I have put some extra focus on social networking and keeping a newsfeed updated there (news relevant to APUG & traditional photography). Next on the menu is the big 4.1 core forum update which contains over 500 bug fixes and many feature requests. There will also be a gallery update and I think we'll shoot for importing the old links system into the new system. Stay tuned
I love that so many small businesses can reach a large target audience on APUG. We've taken on quite a few advertisers over the years and I've always tried to manage it myself. It's reached a point where managing this has become a slight disaster to say the least. Who has paid, who hasn't and left, who is still current but simply forgot to have money in their paypal acct, which ads to disable, enable or re-enable.. contacting advertisers and fielding problems with advertisers and their accounts. ...
I've taken us from vBulletin 4.0.5 to 4.0.7 (containing 300+ core system bug fixes), as well as an update to the APUG Gallery from RC1 to RC2. Bit of a scramble and a 3hr outage but all is going well. The hard work on the initial vBulletin 4.0 APUG build has paid off, allowing me to have quite pain free system updates. Keeping our system up to date has never been easier, the last system was a nightmare to update. We also have some features ported back to the new system such as Gallery thumbnails ...
Unfortunately my darkroom is boxed up so I won't have much to blog about. We are hoping to move house soon but are having trouble finding a buyer. Anyway the blog seems to have a lot of customization ability. Just look to your "Blog Control Panel" and you'll find a heap of options..
and not photo chemical dev unfortunately. I've just spent the last 5 days working on the photocentric.tv video site. It's coming together nicely and should be ready for launch in a few days. I'm looking forward to seeing what gets uploaded to the site and at this stage have no idea what to expect. It's been difficult juggling all the sites while dev is going on and with the recent major upgrades to APUG I'm feeling a bit tired.
