Further adventures in collecting (my first Brady image!)

I was doing a little shopping online, and found an auction for a complete album of cartes de visite. The neatest things in the album are two photos of some old shops in Camden, New York, a soldier in a fancy uniform with feathered hat and saber, and a portrait from the Brady studio in New York. Some of the subjects are identified on the backs of the cards, most are anonymous. There's one cabinet card by an A.F. Hawes, of Taunton, Massachussetts - I wonder if he was any relation to the Hawes of Southworth & Hawes fame? A number of images are from the studio of a Charles K. Bill, 609 Broadway, NY. The CK Bill images are really at least as nicely executed as the Brady. It's interesting to find work by relative unknowns.
