I've determined from various conversions that microfasteners is the only one that has small enough screws - #0 x 3/16th ~ 1.5mm dia, 4.7mm(ish) length. Any longer than that and i'll go through the wood on the springback.
They come in packs of 100 so I'll see about ordering some and shipped here, then once they're here, anyone else needing some of these annoyingly tiny screws can get some off of me :)
Keep plenty in stock yourself !!! Happy that you found them.

A German outfit (schraubendepot on Fleabay) has tiny brass (messing) flathead (senkkopf) woodscrews (holzschrauben) in pkgs of 25 or 100. They have a large variety of sizes, cost is very low (about $3 US for 100), very fast delivery, and they have an English speaking lady on their staff who can help you.
I just bought some 1.6mm x 8mm screws from them . . . go to item 370116181631, then look into their store. The little screws are on about the 3rd page.
You can find the screw from link: http://www.microfasteners.com/

Thanks to previous posters I found the screws I need for my camera project.
I just got my order from microfasteners today.
I bought just about all the sizes they carry in tiny brass screws.
If anyone needs just a couple, email me. I know how hard it can be to buy a hundred when all you need is one or two. I also got some 10-32 inserts and some brass washer in #0, 0x 3/16OD, #1 & #2.
Hello Heather
Have you been to the wonderfully named Clerkenwell Screws which is in London at the beginning of Clerkenwell Road, (Theobalds Road end) which is a small shop specialising in only one thing. No website but here's a link. They have minimum quantities but are never too expensive and their stock is huge.

All the best

I'd given up on googling tiny screws and went and bought a old camera for the parts it had left in it. Enough screws are in there to fix my Pony Primo No 4 which arrived sanscrews. Why do collectors do that:(!!! they sell stuff with one screw missing! It really drives me nuts, oops, no pun intended
Michael
For anyone in the London area or visiting, definitely take the whole camera/part you are working with to Clerkenwell Screws. They were absolutely excellent at finding me new screws.
