Another approach is to use the ammonium-palladium salt version. It is more hygroscopic and less prone to solarization or bronzing.
I seem to remember coming across mention of this once before. Can the ammonium-palladium be used in the same manner as the sodium salt... with ferric oxalate #1 and DOP in potassium oxalate? Are the tones similar to the sodium counterpart, or are they noticeably cooler?
I use it the same way as the sodium salt with the same drop count, etc. The image tone is a little mor neutral perhaps, but I think this is mostly due to the stronger black tones.
