SBR info wanted
Francesco typically makes fantastic photographs with SBR between 8 and 15. He is able to do these because he is so skillful with the techniques and chemicals he uses.
My question is what is the SBR that one can expect with careful exposure using standard developers such as D76 or Microdol rather than pyro stand developing?
A lot of this depends on the film and development method you use. I will give you some examples out of Phil Davis's information on the tests he has done. All of these are test done with continuos agitation at 70º F.
TXT on D76 dil 1+1 SBR 4-8.5
HP5+ on HC110 1+11 SBR 4-8
Bergger 200 on D76 1+1 SBR 5-8
As you can see, D76 and HC110 are good for expansion or situations where you have low contrast, but are not as good for high contrast situation.
Thanks, Jorge. That is the information I was looking for.
