    150dpi Lambda or Chromira prints?

I was wondering if anyone has had success making Lambda or Chromira prints from 150dpi source files. I recently scanned some 4x5 negatives on an Imacon 848. The highest resolution (for 4x5) that you can get with this thing is 2040dpi, which would is equivalent to about 25"x31" at the recommended 300dpi. I'd like to go bigger than this and was wondering if I can still get a good print at 150dpi.

Oops Deleted this thread once, but I guess the grey area allows for scans to lambda, etc...

    My mistake.

You can get a decent print, assuming the viewing distance is not just a few inches. In other words if you expect people to be looking at fine details in the print, get a drum scan. I would do a drum scan anyway, but I have a drum scanner so I am sure that influences my opinion - you should be fine.

What about rescanning it? West Coast Imaging can do a 4x5 on their Tango - not cheap, but better than trying to pull a big image out of that small scan you have now. The scans I get from them allow me to print up to 40x50 at about 230dpi. A 400MB scan at 16-bit is $79.95.
