making a digital album - suggestions?

I found a whole bunch of stereoscopic Kodachrome slides of my mother and her parents from the '50's recently. A LOT of stereoscopic slides.

I'm thinking I will go through them, pick out 50 or so, copy them with my digital camera, then get an album made of them for her for Christmas. Yeah yeah, I'm a nice guy and all, sure. Hehe.

I want to hear any suggestions or advice from those who have done iBooks or anything similar to that.

I have heard glowing reviews about iBooks, but am sure there are others and maybe possibly better books.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks!

Are you looking to create a Mac album? Just curious. I want to create an album that would be playable on both Mac and PC systems (but, would prefer not to use Apple tools).

    Thanks,

No, what I want to do is create a book that I can give to my mother for Christmas. I want it to have paper pages with the images printed on them.

I know Apple does something like that, and that there are a couple of other companies that do too, apparently APUG'gers haven't done anything like that much.

I saw some friends' iBook, which they made to document the renovation of their house, and it was a nicely done thing.

I might suggest that you visit my website. I make my portfolios available on-line as Adobe PDF files. You can download to your desktop to view. I use Adobe Security options to keep casual users from printing out the contents, but you can create your own books using photoshop and other adobe products.

If you don't want to go that far, then you could look at an on line print service such as shutterfly. They can create an album from photographs uploaded to their site.

Joe. Thanks, Adobe PDF isn't too expensive, and would probably work well. I'll look at your site.

Michael, sorry I misunderstood what you are looking for.

    Rob,

I wasn't very eloquent at describing what I wanted advice on. Thanks though.

My photo professor uses mypublisher.com I believe its inkjet, but its REALLY high quality if it is. Really good pricing too, $10-60 depending on soft/hard back, size, and # of pages.
