Digital Negatives with Epson 2400

I have started along the path of creating my digital negatives using this Epson printer. I am not a stranger to the process of creating digital negatives with a lithographic film output, but this Pictorico stuff is quite a different beast. Might I hear from some fellow travellers out there?

I have been making digitial negatives with Epson printers for alt printing for several years. It is a fairly routine procedure once you establish the best ink color and curve. For printing with alt processes you will probably find that the results are just as good as with in-camera or lithogrpahic film output. For silver printing the results are just a tad off.

I just purchased an Epson R2400 and like you have embarked on this adventure (inkjet negatives for Pd/Pt) after years of reading about the various "systems". Finally, I have a printer capable of the superb results Sandy and others have reported.

I'm currently trying Mark Nelson's PDN system. Pictorico OHP is the accepted standard. I decided to stick with what most report success with. My inital impression is that OHP and Epson K3 inks are a great combo. The transparency dries very fast and there is plenty of UV blocking with green colors!

happy new year..
To speed things up at my end re : digital negs I am considering using Kodak Duraclear film throught the Lambda. My reasoning is that Lambda has profiles for this material and I have a 30 inch processor sitting right beside this. I think that this would work well what do you think??
I would think that once the material is balanced then I would invert the file in PS to print negative.
I am still trying to get my head around the 100iso concept as 1. there are no profiles for Lambda for negative film and I do not think anyone at Durst North America has profiles or ever researched this. 2. the processing to test time is long as I do not have a proper solution for negative processing very large film at this point. (I have a solution but the processor has to be built and I am getting quotes now)
With Duraclear I can make the larger negative without problem and I have a Local Expert on alternative print processes that is going to output the film to the processes onsite to see how well this will work.

With the conference coming at us very fast, I am allocating all my spare time to the groundwork for the workshops but I want to have some samples ready for you to see. I think duraclear or fujiclear RA4 is a good starting point.
Have you heard of anyone doing this, I think it would be every bit as good as and inkjet on film solution. what are your thoughts.
