    Huuumm!!

Peter's remarks are indeed off-topic for the gray sub-forum, which is essentially about hybrid methods that combine digital and tranditional.

But why are you fellows over here monitoring the hybrid sub-forum? Thought you all wanted it separated from the regular forums so you would not be contaminated by such talk?

This thread was originally posted in the Lounge, so some of these posts were from before it was moved to the Gray Area.

As to whether any particular thread is appropriate for the Gray Area, doesn't the Gray Area have its own moderator? Is it Les? I've been moving things that are more appropriate to the Gray Area than the regular forums to the Gray Area, but I've been leaving it to the moderator of the Gray Area to decide whether it is appropriate to the Gray Area.

My recollection is that Les was appointed the moderator when the gray area sub-forum was created. However, he does not regulary post in the sub-forum and I am not aware of any moderation, though for sure that might have been done without it being evident.

Perhaps off topic, but I would like to hear what Peter has to say. Since I don't visit the Soap Box, if it went there, I wouldn't be able to follow.

That's a good question Sandy. I do also agree that the topic should be limited to hybrid techniques.

Discussions about digital cameras, inkjet printing and anything digital not relating to hybrid techniques should just be deleted instead of being dumped into the gray area. This also should include anti-digital comments or rants, that is purge those from the gray area as well.

There are plenty of other internet sites where digital topics can be better discussed whereas this is one of the few sites that specailizes in hybrid techniques.

    My two cents,

    Don Bryant

Good points, Don. Since the Gray Area has its own moderator, I think it's not really my place to moderate the content of the Gray Area, though we would step in if there were something like abuse or spam, that's obviously inappropriate.

I'll start a thread in the moderators' forum about the Gray Area.

If Les doesn't have time to do it all himself, maybe there ought to be a second moderator for this area.
