Silver Gelatin with PDN
Good Evening Everyone,
I must admit I've been very busy looking for a job and haven't gotten around to performing any tests yet with Mark's PDN method. I have read his book cover to cover several times though.
Anyway, to the point. Yesterday I received a silver gelatin print from Sam Wang that was made using the PDN method. He has given me permission to upload a copy of the scanned image.
Here is Sam's technical info about how the print was made.
"The image was made in a digital camera, saved in RAW file format, imported to Photoshop as 16 bit grayscale. After tonal adjustments, it was converted to RGB and output to Pictorico film as per Mark's procedure. It was then contact printed on Ilford Multigrade Warmtone fiber paper and sepia toned."
I really appreciate Sam sharing this with us. I can tell you from looking at the print first hand that it is indeed a lovely print. It does show some grain in the skin tones but he didn't say which inkjet printer he used to make the negative.
Enjoy,
Don Bryant

Sam is using the Epson 2200 with the PDN system to make his negatives.
