Another massive quake has hit Christchurch, hope our APUGers are ok.

Thoughts are with you all, the TV footage is absolutely gut wrenching.

My thoughts are with the people of Christchurch.

I went to university there in 1975...what a wonderful city and people. And I live in a place where the same thing can, and will, happen.
At least with LF landscape, a bad day of photography can be a good day of exercise.

Have just had a patchy AIM communication with arts students that I stayed with in Papanui last year (sessional teaching at University of Canterbury); they are all very shaken and getting out of town. Saw the horror of the church in ruins. It's very sad and very, very alarming.

Is that you Sean — Sean Scanlon — quoted in reports on the quake in the news?

I just read this news. The pictures are tragic. I am really glad you (Sean) seem to be away from that part of NZ. But still it must impact your life.
