Snow!

Time for Swannies and the Norsewear socks. How can Wellington be such a cold hole sometimes (I slipped on my bum on ice on the footpath in Brooklyn in my first winter there) and such a great place to live as well? Miss it.

Yes, pretty cold. The only other time I've seen snow here even approaching what we've had was back in 1976, and that didn't last. This time it snowed on consecutive days, it fell to sea level, and lasted. It's hung around for a few days now up here in the hill suburbs, and was pretty icy this morning on the way to the train.

There was even one or two flakes (literally) in Auckland & they complained their lattés got cold!. There was even some snow on the hills in Dargaville, in Northland. It's made things even more unpleasant for the folks in Christchurch.

I managed to get out and about in the snow in downtown Auckland - CBD - nearish university... Its snow if it fluffs about occasionally against gravity huh ?
