The destination is important, but so is the journey

I've gone with two longer distance, one not so long!

Well, Leon can claim that he'll be a poor impoverished student by the time the Gathering rolls around. (Mind you, I suspect he'll be using that excuse in the bar too, and my sympathy is not unlimited...!)

There is something to be said for having guides with local knowledge (photogenic locations, best routes, real ale pubs, cheesecake providers, etc.) but I must say I do detect a little doorstep-ism going on...!

nothing wrong with doorstep-ism. I wont even have a car by then, so I only really have one choice. And Frank - you know what it's like, living on a grant (erm, showing my age there ... loan), having to drag yourself out of bed for the 12 hours college contact time each week, needing to sample all the beers in the union bar for each visit, etc, etc, it's a hard life being a student you know (who am I kidding).

You've got one now? You sold the Prius?!

'sides that's no excuse. Tell him, Mr Archer!

However, I do sympathise. I work at a university and know just how much effort the students put in. It's really tough for them. Some of the lectures are literally at the crack of noon! The poor things can't even afford soap! :o

There's nothing wrong mith my Milk Float. And just think of all the film I am buying with the petrol savings I'm making (my average mileage has just crept over 61 mpg and that is around town )

Sorry: I meant for people to log their preferred locations here in the poll so we can get on with selecting the dates. I've edited the other post to make that clear... People have already started posting their do-able dates in the other thread. I've added yours to the list.

    Cheers, Bob.
