I have e-mailed them to request a room.
I phoned them up but they seemed a bit disorganised and hadn't got a pen to hand so I said I would e-mail instead.
I liked their confidence "the rooms should be ready, we hope"
I'll bring my sleeping bag just in case

Do any of those attending wish me to organise a list of places of photographic interest. I will sort out a list of tide times hopefully it will prevent doddery old Miller fromgetting marooned somewhere off the coast of Northumberland

Just for that McLean, you can send back that GT Zimmerframe you borrowed from me.

I haven't forgotten that the last time you were leading the pack you contrived to abandon us all to the vagaries of a wild and unkempt wilderness.
    Regards Dave.

Yeah, I remember that one too - Conned us into a dead end, did a handbrake turn and was over the horizon before the rest of us could follow! First time I've seen a camper-van with a turbo!

He turned up that evening with a smug grin, a weak excuse and a pint in his mitt!

I think you'll find that comes under the heading of "photo opportunity" for the rest of us...!

According to a gizmo on my Palm they should be roughly (based on figures for Northshields) -

    Fri 4 April
    High 0302 4.62m
    Low 0909 1.30m
    High 1501 4.82m
    Low 2134 0.69m

    Sat 5 April
    High 0339 4.88m
    Low 0946 0.99m
    High 1541 5.12m
    Low 2212 0.44m

    Sun 6 April
    High 0416 5.07m
    Low 1024 0.73m
    High 1621 5.35m
    Low 2250 0.32m

I'm happy to be corrected by official figures (this proggy is free and untested (by me)). I'm not entirely convinced that it's allowed for BST either...! This page may also be useful.

The destination is important, but so is the journey

There are tide tables on the Lindesfarne web site to help get the punters on and off the island.

just a bit of anecdotal info for you lot.

When I was up that way a few years back, Bamburgh castle was extremely well lit up at night with spots all round the landward side. Makes for some nice night time shots. But be warned, I spent half an hour setting the camera up one night in almost complete darkness which makes focussing and setting apertures etc pretty difficult. Just as I put the film holder in they switched the lights off. I'm sure someone was watching me because they couldn't have timed it any better. Had to go back the following night to get my images.

And trips to Farne Islands out of season are often only round the Island and don't land. So check before hand if you want to go on the Islands and see if you can organise it with one of the several skippers that do trips.
They couldn't understand why I would want to land on the Islands as "There is nothing there". I guess familiarity breeds contempt and I couldn't be bothered to explain that the bleak featureless landscape with a light house sticking out of it was actually quite appealing to a landscape photographer who hadn't seen it before.

Isn't that what I linked to at the bottom of my last post?
