Spring 2009 UK APUG Weekend - WHEN to go
I've started a thread to seek suggestions of WHERE to go in Spring 2009 - this thread is to seek suggestions of WHEN to go.
Some generalities: Mid March is probably the earliest and late May probably the latest, but that's just my feeling - feel free to suggest later/earlier.
That mean the weekends as follows: I have added school holidays (April is not looking good on that scale...):
MARCH
-------
14/15
21/22
28/29
APRIL
-----
4/5 : School Holidays start 3rd
11/12 : Easter
18/19 : school holiday ends 20th
25/26
MAY
----
2/3 : 4th = May Bank Holiday
9/10
16/17
23/24 : Half-term starts 25th
30/31 : Half-term ends 29th
Any thoughts?

I won't be able to make any date before late April.
I am expecting to be in Australia in Jan & the first half of Feb then in the USA in March
By the time I have recovered from that lot it takes me to the end of April
Thanks
Martin

My agenda is sadly less busy than Martin's
Will follow the majority.

Hi,
You may wish to consider misssing the 16th / 17th of May as FADU have already settled on that date for a Lake District meet. I am about to commit to that so can't be in two places at once. All the other dates mentioned are free for me at the moment.
Cheers,
Neil.

I can make all dates other that 16/17th May at the moment.

I can't do May at all. Have too many other trips then (friends & family visitings).

My agent says Scotland in April or May is best, she doesn't like the UK weather at the best of times, but most definitely not over a school holiday or half-term
I had planned to go to Anglesey at the last minute as I was on the Ilford tour, but one look at the forecast and I retreated home

Ian, Anglesey was interesting (!) weather wise - but surprisingly good to photograph.
Sat, heavy continuous rain & very strong winds – dreadful
Sunday, was warm, sunny almost cloudless skies and very little wind.
It was hard to believe you were in the same place

Anglesey in the rain is an enduring childhood memory from 2 miserable holidays spent there. Not something I wanted to repeat
Unfortunately I was only in the UK for 2 weeks so my time was better spent in my darkroom, hopefully my next trip back will co-incide with the Spring weekend.
