Thomas: Interesting comment about the lack of background noise. As you may know, in audiophile/vinyl circles there's a theory that groove noise and/or tape noise in analog recording processes actually helps record low-level details better than no-noise as found in digital. In a way, like "flashing" film to build up a low-level exposure prior to actual exposure. Funny how things parallel between my hobbies!
