The Caponigro interview was very interesting, especially the advice for aspiring fine art photographers about galleries and presenting their work. Thanks for using my questions! To tell you the truth, however, when you said Caponigro I thought you were talking about the father, which is why I was so pleased. Instead we have just another guy who is scanning negatives and printing in color with an inkjet printer. Why do so many of your interviewees seem to shoot color and print digitally? If this keeps up, you will have to change the name of the program to Inside Hybrid Photo!

Charles,
Perhaps Scott is working through a list of people he has lined up? I'm sure there must be plently of people doing film exposure to darkroom prints, including alt process. Tim Rudman perhaps, Bruce Barnbaum, John Sexton, and maybe some significant materials suppliers: Bostick & Sullivan, Photographer's Formulary, Adox / Fotoimpex, Silverprint perhaps.
Tom.

As you may have heard in my interview, I believe that there is a great future in hybrid photo. More specifically, I find that shooting color or B&W with film, scanning and then printing digitally can often give the best of both worlds. Some of the results I have seen (and done) are quite impressive.
Now, if we could only fix up the problems with digital printing such as dye smear and dye stability we might have something.
And, Scott is a very busy person doing more than just interviews. If you look at an earlier post of his you would know that he will be in Rochester NY for part of this week having fun!

If he's in Rochester, see if he can talk to Dick and Sylvia.

Scott does try to make everyone happy.
I had lunch today with Scott and two other APUG members along with part of our GEH lunch group that was available on short notice. He was quite excited about seeing the demonstration of curtain coating and touring B-38.
We had a two hour lunch and enjoyed ourselves talking about analog and hybrid photography. I left Scott and his two associates shopping like mad in the GEH store for 18% gray hats and sweat shirts. Scott was holding up an 18% gray lapel pin (I think) in triumph and waving it at the world in general. I think he bought 2 of them.
So, GEH made him happy too, I think!
Great meeting you guys.

Scott...AWESOME podcasts! You keep us wanting more and more!
In case you didn't get my e-mail about ideas: Michael Seewald (www.seewald.com) - fine art travel photographer and photo instructor. Shoots with Hasselblad and Kodak Portra film.
William McIntosh - very famous portrait photographer in the Virginia Beach area (http://www.portraitsbymcintosh.com/index.html). As far as I know from past readings, he still uses a Mamiya RZ67 and Fuji film.

Podcasts in iTunes showing incorrect date?
Hi everyone,
I just discovered the podcast a month or two ago and it's EXACTLY the kind of podcast I have been looking for since my conversion from digital to film photography earlier this year. I have been listening to all of them one after another, and it came to a point when I finally finished them all. I was quite disappointed when I noticed that the last one was dated sometime in March.
This gave me the impression that the podcast was no more, and I was very disappointed. However today, I found this forum and noticed that new podcasts have been added, and that the podcast isn't dead. But when I went back to iTunes to take a look, I noticed new podcasts like the interview with Caponigro, but the interview is dated 21 March 2009! Is there something wrong? I don't have this problem with my other podcasts...
In any case, please keep this podcast alive! I love it!!!

Don't be deceived by the dates. We went some time without any podcasts, and then Scott started catching up while maintaining the earlier dating sequence. So the most recent podcasts are indeed dated in March.
If you like Scott's Inside Analog Photo podcasts, you might also enjoy his rangefinder radio podcasts, although there is more digital content in them.

I'm subscribed to the Rangefinder Radio podcasts too, and while it's a great podcast too, I prefer the focus of this podcast as it is entirely about analog photography and processes.
