Nikor 4x5 Spring Band Request.
Could I talk somebody into taking the spring band from their 4x5 nikor tank and tracing it edge wise on paper and posting it with a couple of measurement points? Just got the long term loan of a tank in really good shape, but the band is gone. Or/and,,, has anyone used the tank without the spring band, or by using a rubber band or something else? I'm not too bad with metal work, and have a friend with a lot of machine shop and sheet metal experience, and access to stanless sheet of various thinesses, so I'm really not worried about making one myself.

The Nikor band is not flat, it has a sawtooth profile to help hold the negs in the slots better so the tracing will not get you a true size.
Most folks who are missing the band use a rubber band with no adverse effects.
