1980 kiev 4a repairs questions (light baffle and shutter assembly support shaft)

Hi All, got two questions here folks,
    1. the shaft screw is chipped so i can't fit it on again, how important is it on supporting the shutter assembly?

    2. how important is the light bafle that sits in the shutter assembly?

the thing is i recently did a full strip of my kiev for rangefinder calibarating, but upon assembling it i just cant make the shutter to fit tight, upon inspection i reach the coclusion that the main problem is that my light baffle is very deformed so mucht that it prevents tight fitting.

i tried to remove the baffle and it fits nicely and so far so good, so what i want to know is how vital is the baffle on regular camera operation?

i know that they must have purposes, but maybe some experienced repairer can shed some light if the the camera can still be used.

    best regards,

    Dave

I go ahead fit the shutter in without the baffle and the shaft screw. But now when the film plane casting is fitted, I can't wind the shutter as if the casting is pressing the curtains to much and obstructing it.

    Anyone have the same experience?

    Regards,

    Dave
