I might try that. The problem is the thickness. The front face is less than 1mm thick to prevent vignetting of the view and the rest is about 1mm for aesthetic reasons. I might give it a try today though.

Initial failure! The sides would need to be at least twice as thick to prevent it cracking across the grain.
