Finetta 88 - can anyone help me?

A little while ago I was given a nice looking Finetta 88. It seems to be in usable condition, but I have a couple of minor issues.

I have seemed to inadvertently unscrewed the helical. As they are multi start threads, would anyone know at what point I would start the thread, or is it a case of suck it and see?

Unfortunately I think you already have the answer. "see?" If you can get to the film plane to check focus, using a ground glass/waxed paper Scotch tape it's just tedious.

Thanks. I have tried this in the past, but with a Medium Format camera. I was just hoping that there was an easy answer!!!

I will have to give it a shot again and see how I go.
