    Exakta VX1000

Hi, does anyone know where I can find a repair manual for the Exakta? I have tried Google but nothing came up.
    Thanks, Norman

You might consider this book....it is really well done and covers everything.

Such a manual cannot be cheap. What would you sell a book like this if you would have the knowledge to write and perform CLA on such cameras?

I think that I might just buy this and have a go at sorting out my late Father's Varex IIb. (As you say, specialist books will never be cheap, and this one looks quite reasonably priced for what it is....I compare this with the £100's which it costs me every year for specialist books, CD's and journals for my (non-photographic) professional work!)

Maybe you and Norm can split the cost and then when done sell it and split the proceeds.

Thomas Tomosy has a section on the Varex Exactas in this book Restoring Classic and Collectible Cameras, about 5 pages including replacing the shutter curtains. There's a PDF version on the Internet.
