    The Chicago community darkroom

Yesterday visited the Chicago community darkroom (http://www.chicagocommunitydarkroom.org/). Wednesdays are their "open house" and it was a great change to have a look around. The place buzzing with activity (along with a poetry reading event in the next hall), and a bunch of "kids" were there zapping out test prints and hanging negatives.

The place is VERY well stocked, and has a super nice setup for BW film processing and printing.
While the space is a bit tight, i hear they are looking to move, but even now this is a huge asset and resource to anyone in the Chicago area who wants to drop by and print.

They even have a Jobo processor on hand, and lots of tanks and gear to run pretty much anything.

The folks who manage the place whom i met there seem to really know their thing, and know what they are talking about.
A great place to support so go and make some silver prints!

Been many of times. If it wasn't so far from my neighborhood, I'd go more often. Ken and Greg and the other guys running the show are great.

I think there is one in Cambridge, England.

“The contemplation of things as they are, without error or confusion, without substitution or imposture, is in itself a nobler thing than a whole harvest of invention”

    Francis Bacon
