Intense Saturday Darkroom Workshops!!!
Saturday Traditional Darkroom Workshops,
2 Saturdays each month:
1 day Darkroom Workshop in Pasadena, California.
Max 2 people per day - $120.00 per day per person.
For less than the cost of 25 sheets of quality
16X20 fiber based paper you will learn more in one day
about dark room procedures than you thought possible.
You will learn to process your film - sheets, roll film, 35mm
and get consistent results,
You will also learn about using different developers
for a different "look" and subject matter,
while learning to judge a negative (and contact print)
to see if there is potential as a fine print.
Finally, you will learn the details of making a fine print,
a print that "glows", a print that demands your attention,
and a print that is processed to archival museum standards.
This is a "hands-on" workshop working with a Durst 8x10 enlarger
of the highest quality.
Make sure you get plenty of rest the day before this workshop!
You may have both physical and visual overload after it is completed.
A light snack-lunch and refreshments are included in the price.
(No workshops in June - July)
All Saturdays full until September.

What to bring...
What to bring to the workshop etc...
Bring processed negs if you have them (120 or larger).
Bring a 120 camera if you have one. If you dont we'll use my Rolleiflex. I'll provide Ilford film.
We'll start by shooting three test rolls and process in three different types of developers
(Rodinal, Harveys 777 and Pyro Rollo).
Bring a negative with a corresponding print if you have it (120 neg size preferably. - or bigger.)
If you do not have this we will use negs from the test rolls.
After film processing we will make contact proof prints, decide on the best negative(s) to print from and proceed to make
11X14 prints using my Durst L184 enlarger. We will try different methods of obtaining local contrast and D-max - and will go through the entire process of making exhibition type prints.
If you do bring negatives and corresponding prints we may want to use that negative and make prints to see how far we can "push" the content in the negative.
The workshop includes all paper, film, chemistry, refreshments troughout the day, and a light lunch.
... And I get to clean the darkroom!
Per, looking forward to the 6th of October.
Next available darkroom workshop...
... is October 27...
