Darn. I'd really like to attend, since I've done a fair amount of shooting at Jamaica Bay, but not usually B&W, but I'm hosting the gathering for the APUG Traveling Portfolio later that afternoon. If anyone is planning to attend both, the APUG gathering is at 2:30 p.m., which should leave plenty of time to head up to Washington Heights after Jamaica Bay. You could even take the A train most of the way, transferring to the 1 at 168th St, and it would be about 90 minutes.

This could work quite well. I would be driving to the your house from Brooklyn and there is no reason not to to go to Jamaica first. I could drive as many as six passengers + gear to your place afterwards. If any live kinda enroute I can drop them off at their home when finished.

ps: Reservatons are required for the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge so I would think they need be made today. Let me know if this is a "GO"

Bruce, if you're planning to go, then what I was thinking was that I'd just bring the APUG Traveling Portfolio with me to Jamaica Bay, and we'd look at it after the workshop out there at Jamaica Bay, rather than at my place, which is way uptown.

Okay, I just registered for the workshop, so unless I hear otherwise, let's say that's the plan.

That's cool too. They have a large auditorium we could probably set around in... whatever. I'll make my reservation today. Hope to see a few friendlies.

I'm in for Jamaica Bay. I think it'll be a kind of a 35mm and monopod day for me.

Looks like the weather will be good Sunday.
Glad some of you are planning to attend.
Don't forget to call and reserve a seat...
