Default f295 Symposium Survey results

All -
Just after the symposium I sent out a survey and asked each of the 150+ attendees to rate each of these items on a scale of 1-5. 5 being the absolute BEST and 1 being the Worst. We had an overall 20% response rate (which for a voluntary survey is outstanding) with a much higher percentage of those who took workshops responding.

I'm pleased to present the results to you below. I'm especially proud to announce that the f295 workshop instructors scored a PERFECT 5 (there were no workshop instructors scores included in this ranking!) ! And not only that, Overall Symposium Experience scored a 4.8! Outstanding!

To be fair, the workshop facilities scored low (relatively) because of a ventilation problem in the darkroom used for collodion. That said they did a great job considering it's not easy to host over 60 people (each day) in 8 unique workshops.

1. The opening reception experience... 4.38

2. The variety of speakers... 4.78

3. The symposium was creatively stimulating... 4.81

4. The facilities at CMU... 4.54

5. Ease of finding various events... 4.28

6. Workshop experience... 4.80

7. Workshop facilities... 4.17

8. The instructor for your workshop... 5.00

9. Overall symposium experience... 4.80

10. Pittsburgh as a site for hosting the event... 4.63

I hope this gives you some empirical data to consider when you think about attending next years event....

f295 2009 will take place in Pittsburgh on May 28 - 31, 2009. It is our aim to have the entire speaker roster nailed down by the time we attend PDN in October 2008. Watch for some exciting speaker, workshop and exhibition announcments soon!

Very Best,
Tom

Tom, How did the workshop go with the guy that was doing platinum collodion process? I've never heard of this before and was wondering how it went and would love to see some results and comments from the attendees. Robert
