Default looking for non-technical workshop

I've scanned through the Santa Fe workshops, the Maine ones and the Rocky Mountain School. I'd like to take a workshop based around finding your own personal vision, composition, being creative - that sort of thing, not a technical one. They all seem to require digital capture. Obviously, I want one where I can shoot film.

Can anyone recommend one to me? It would likely need to be in 2009, but I might be able to squeeze something in this summer if it has openings.

I did Andrea Modica's Intuitive Portraits in Maine a few years ago. Very much about finding a personal way to shoot, but it is about portraiture. John Goodman does one there that looks promising... something along the lines of finding your personal vision.

Bethe -

There were two workshops scheduled at Peters Valley this summer that are exactly what you are looking for. Both are with Ernestine Rubin. One has already taken place, and the second is full. However, she is also doing a workshop next month at the Woodstock Center for Photography that might be interesting to you.

Ernie is well-known in artistic circles, especially in Europe, and has been involved in art for more than 70 years as both artist and teacher. Her teaching style is unique (in my experience). At the beginning of each workshop, she has a private portfolio review with each student, and based on that assessment, she customizes her objectives for that student. Then, each day during the workshop she schedules another private session to review the work that the student has done against those objectives, and to identify a specific challenge for the next day.

While Ernie's work is technically challenging, she is not a very technical photographer herself, and relies on assistants to process film and handle the craft aspects of her art. Her workshops are similarly non-technical, and in fact the last two I was in with her, she had arranged for someone to process film and make proof sheets so that we could concentrate on vision.

Suzanne, somehow I missed seeing the John Goodman one at Maine - that does seem like what I want.
Louie, the coming up but sold out one by Ernestine at Peters Valley is also just what I'm looking for.

I'll have to check scheduling and see if the one in Maine is sold out and keep both people in mind for next summer. Thanks!
