Since this it going to be my LAST JOSHUA TREE WORKSHOP / GETTOGETHER!!! I'm probably going to stay in a motel down there somewhere unless the Dodge Ram God resurrects my truck from it's lame transmission problem which is very likely due to the limited time I will have to get it fixed.
I'm sure there won't be a problem with accommodations, OK, I'm not that sure but it always works out.
Everytime I find a film or paper that I like, they discontinue it. - Paul Strand - Aperture monograph on Strand
I've never been to Joshua Tree so I'm not sure where I should be looking for a hotel. Does anyone have any recommendations?
There are three cities with accommodations nearby, Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and 29 Palms. 29 Palms is where the main entrance is, though coming from the west I always enter through Joshua Tree or from the lower desert off I-10.
I have no specific recommendations, as I stay overnight in the park, but there is the usual assortment of private and chain motels and fancier places.
I do use a digital device in my photographic pursuits when necessary.
When someone rags on me for using film, I use a middle digit, upraised.
I'll be there as always camping at the Holiday Inn Express in Joshua Tree. I hear that Jim has a new tent to replace the one that got destroyed last year.
Dan, you are right. A new tent that is going to stay home! I'm not risking that again. I think I'll stay in a motel this time or sleep in my truck. No destroyed 4 seasons tent this time please.
