Artist Talk: Keliy Anderson-Staley at Project Basho 6/24 (Philadelphia)
Project Basho is pleased to invite Keliy Anderson-Staley for a presentation on her work on Friday, June 24 at 7pm. Keliy is a photographer, installation artist, and collodionist whose work considers issues of shared and personal identity, history, and belonging.
Her current project, Imagined Family Heirlooms, presents a mixed assembly of found letters, pictures, and other mementos alongside original photographs, photograms, and collages. These arbitrarily connected objects coalesce into a potential, but imaginary heirloom collection, which draws attention to the rootless nature of many American identities as well as a sense of shared identity connecting strangers separated by time and space.
When: Friday, June 24 at 7pm
Where: Project Basho Gallery
1305 Germantown Ave
$10 - General Public
$5 - Students and Friends of Project Basho
Just a quick reminder that Keliy Anderson-Staley's lecture takes place tomorrow, Friday, June 24, at 7pm. Keliy will be bringing some original and historical tintypes, an antique portrait camera, and will be speaking about her work in the wet plate collodion process. She will also be running a tintype photobooth at the Print Center on Saturday.
