PhotoWeek DC events at Photoworks in Glen Echo, Maryland

Photoworks in Glen Echo, Maryland (just outside Washington DC) will be putting on a slate of events as part of FotoWeek DC from November 5-12, 2011. I will be participating in the alternative process show-and-tell on Sunday, November 6, from 11AM to 4PM. I will be showing my nighttime DC platinum/palladium prints, all shot on large format film. I may even be bringing along some of the cameras I use, including the Canham 14x17.

I will also be giving a platinum/palladium printing demo later that week (date/time to be determined) - admission is $40 plus a $10 materials fee. Here is the slate of presenters and schedule for November 6. I encourage everyone to come out and see the show, and if you've never been out to Photoworks before, please come check it out, it's a lovely facility in a terrific (and photographically ripe) setting! Fellow APUG member Keith Williams (keithwms) is also presenting.

    What is Photoworks?

I visited the park last week and don't recall seeing any mention of it.

    Thanks.

It is in the stone building with the Puppet Show, inside behind the Gallery on the corner. The door to the building lobby is between the Gallery and the Puppet Show on one side. There is a door to the lobby on the other side next to the Gallery and facing the Chautauqua building. Gallery points towards the Carousel.

    Thanks, Steve.

Is it a gallery or workshop or business or ??? Is it open all the time or only during special events?

Open all the time with the occupants rotated in and out every few months.

    Leigh:

Did you see the link to Photowork's website at the very beginning of the OP's initial post?

Nope. I saw one to PhotoWeek, but not to Photoworks. Still don't.

On edit: Google found it. Sounds neat. Thanks.
