Used gear shops in the metro area?
Besides the usual National Camera and Craig's list, are there any other good shops to buy used camera gear in the metro area? (I have also had luck at First Photo in Duluth but that's a bit of a drive....)

Where is the 'metro area'?

Urm, this is in the Minnesota regional forum. There is a good camera store called West Photo next to Surdyks liquor store in Minneapolis.
They sell some used stuff, as well as renting out gear etc. Darkroom products too.
If you go further out to St. Cloud there is a good store there for used and new stuff, but I cannot think of it's name. I just know where it is.

And you should stop in at Kramarczuk's Deli on Hennepin a block west of Surdyk's for some fine sausage. Used to eat lunch there occasionally when I worked at West Photo a quarter century ago. They don't have any used cameras.

Andy K: Bemidji always claims to be the metro area, but everyone knows it's really Tower.

No matter what the sales tax people say, St. Cloud IS NOT in the metro area.
It is seventy miles from down-town Minneapolis.
The Camera Trader is the best photo shop in town but they don't have much analog stuff compared to what they did five years ago.

Notwithstanding that it's not in the TC metro area, the store in St. Cloud is Central Camera. Technically, it might be in Waite Park if you look for it's address. Not much of a used selection though, I wouldn't consider it for a special trip.
If you go to National Camera, ask to go up to the "Shutterbug dept". That's where most of the used large and medium format stuff is kept. National Camera keeps a good online inventory (www.ncepro.com).

You could also check out the 'f-stop swap' that takes place annualy. It's in various locations, but quite a few bargains to be had for sure.

The F-stop meet will be April 26-27 in Inver Grove Heights.
