That's easy to say if all you do is headshots . . .

I have 10 rolls of Fuji Superia Xtra 400/800, 3 rolls of BW400CN, 5 rolls of XP2 Super, 5 rolls of Tri-X and a few rolls of Fuji N800Z in a zip-loc bag. I guess the reason why I stash some film away is because I'm afraid they'll go up in price due to the rising cost of buying film locally.

Since I have been busy chewing through some 1,600 rolls of Kodachrome, I have not been shooting much black and white so I am stocking up for now.

I have a boatload at this point:

    50 rolls 35mm ADOX CMS 20
    1200 feet 35mm TechPan
    500 feet 35mm Efke 25
    500 feet 35mm Ilford HP5
    1,000 feet 35mm Ilford Delta 400
    1,000 feet 35mm Ilford PanF
    2,000 feet 35mm Agfa APX 100

    75 rolls 120mm TechPan
    500 rolls 120mm Ilford PanF

The bulk rolls pretty much stay in deep freeze for use 5-10 years from now. I also have about 100 rolls of the above for use much sooner.

...I plan on stocking up more, but I need to complete my Kodachrome project first.

Aren't you afraid of the B&W film fogging up in 5 to 10 years?

    Just to be collecting?

I can't imagine ANYONE that's participating in this thread is hoarding in order to build a collection.

I hoarded a bunch of Rodinal before Agfa went belly up. Not one of my better investment ideas, although I did sell one bottle for $40 before it came out again. Shoulda sold it all.

GAS could be hoarding if you're saving a narrow model range in various states of repair, just to make sure you always have spare parts. Surely there have to be some M42 or Leica hoarders lurking here in the background. (probably claiming that they're sensibly investing to make sure they have something to shoot all that Tri-X they've also hoarded with)

It's at least Packratting, and might be considered pre-emptive archeaology. (why waste time digging it up later if I don't let them bury it in the first place?)
