I live near, and am going to try Peak-Imaging. I'm just pushing a roll of Tri-X to 1600 asa and e-mailed them for details of how they would handle the processing. They got back to me within 30 minutes with an answer from one of their film technicians. In the next week or so I should be able to give a review.
Forgot to mention I have tried Peter Winter in the UK mail order and they gave good results for B&W.
Cheers, Lol

not easy to find anywhere that will do dev and machine prints. But here's a suggestion. Get dev and scan to CD done. Then when you get CD upload to the following site. They print on fuji crystal archive at 10p a print for the size you want and if you do a couple of tests to find the right colour tint for the images, then you can produce very slightly warm tone images and the quality is pretty good, especially considering the price.

Thanks for all that very useful info. I'll do more research with those links.

I'd love to know how you get on Lol, please update us when you get your prints.

Thanks again

Fintan

Dear All,

If you check our website www.ilfordphoto.com you will see a special offer regarding our NEW process and print service, as pointed out it is only the UK at the moment, but await further developments ( no pun intended )

Fintan - try Palm Laboratory in Birmingham - this is my local lab and I know them well.

They will print B&W on RA4 machine prints or they also do package deals on real B&W prints. Really nice people. Ask for Steve or Simon and say Matt Wells recommended them.

Hi Fintan, here are two from peak Imaging off Tri-X pushed to 1600 ASA:

I'm impressed with the level of grain. Note they were took with a CV 25mm Skopar lens which is quite contrasty. I posted them Friday morning and got them back today (Wednesday). Cost of processing, uprate, scan to cd and postage a total of £10.50. If I could only take a decent picture it would be worth it!

Cheers, Lol
