Hi BWKate

In the freezer you can hold him for at least 4-5 Years without problems I still use HIE in 4x5 with not any ill effects, but you should put it in freezer as fresh as possible and take him out just bevor use. It slows down the aging effect wonderfull!
Don't worry be happy and just belive me!
In XTOL it works! God luck, Armin J. Seeholzer

There are some differing opinions on that topic. I just try to use it within the year and have had good results. It is very sensitive film. Photo Engineer (an apug person) has a great deal of knowledge on film and I would ask his advice about longevity.
Hi,

Thanks for the Kudos on the K-Project. It certainly keeps me busy. But I have a half a dozen 35mm film bodies, so I think I can squeeze some IR in there somewhere. Earlier today, I started realizing what is going to happen here with the ebay frenzy buying it up, so I ordered 20 more rolls. I figure 50 should be a safe number for a year or two.

I am not sure where all I will shoot it yet, but I am certain I want to take some to Iceland and really work it in the pano.

This guy's site is pretty good. A little odd and out of optimum context in places but good:

I am very thankful I got some before it departs. Cheers, Dan

Well isn't this nice, I can find as much HIE as I need for the time being, but no Wratten 87C gel to cover the damn IR sensor in my XPan-I..

I am going to have Hasselblad convert my XPan for IR and give it the longest bulb setting, they called this morning and said they can turn it around on a pro rush in 7-10 days.

I caved and ordered another 60 rolls today so I now have 110 rolls of HIE in 35mn. Then with a stroke of luck, I found about 70 rolls of 2424 ( HIE in 120 ala-David Romano ), so I got 30 rolls of it. I have about blown my black and white film budget for the year now, LOL!

Once the snow melts ( it is two stories high now in town ) I will get out and give a roll a try and dial it in. Then....it is fun time for a couple of years!

Default Wow!

The flippers are at it already, I hope people like me got a bunch before Freestyle and Samys ran out, this person started at $19 a roll and is now up to $39!! One roll went on auction at $43:

It's nice to know I could get a small fortune for my 110 rolls...

Nice, talk about grain, LOL!

I just feel bad for these people, one guy in Canada purchased 4 rolls in individual auctions at $39 a roll! That's like....$160 for 4 rolls?

That's insane!

I feel truly blessed that I found a cache at Samy's before it totally dried up.
