Very sad. Neopan 1600 is one of my favorite b&w films. Acros 100, too. I hope they don't stop making that as well.

Replying to my own post it seems my Japanese isn't too rusty after all, they replied, though I suspect it is a form letter. It mostly just says thanks for using their products, unfortunately they don't sell enough B&W film to keep on producing Neopan 1600 in small batches so they've had to discontinue it, they're very sorry for the inconvenience, 36-rolls are still available until stock run sout, they hope I understand and hope that I will continue to use Fujifilm products.

The sent me links to a survey and a further comment website as well but they are personalized for me so I won't reproduce them here.

I just looked on the fuji UK webshop: still 36-135 available.

Maybe the highspeed sell out will change their mind.

Wasn't NPZ 800 saved by the bell through lots of complaints?

I know I did my part and bought 200 rolls (and regularly bought it/shot it). Love 1600 and pissed to see it go. Oh well...

A temporary stay of execution. It's now been discontinued.

Fuji loves to do this "stay of execution" thing. The only film that I know of that was discontinued and then brought back for good was Velvia. 800Z and all Fuji single-8 films were given a reprieve, only to be formally discontinued a little later.

So they are pushing us towards 1.2 , 1.4 and 1.8 lenses... in order to get the image on film without the strobes switched on.

Sad, it feels as if the walls are coming closer and closer.

Superia 800 and 1600 left then for shooting low light in color?

Who knows, Mr Fuji could change his mind, if there are many really many of us.

It takes a minute, no hassles, so please sign it off.
