I have refrained from getting close to any sort of super 8 film camera, because that would add another project to the mix... but 35 mm film in short pieces sounds interesting and doable. But 2 seconds after starting to look at the contraption, I am already off to thinking "what about having a 100 feet roll instead in the camera..." So, maybe not.

From watching the video, I think it is the standard 35mm motion picture frame format, or what still photographers would call 1/2 frame.

The frame size is 24mm x 8.5mm.

Is it me, but looking at the picture of the developed frame on the above site that it appears to be 8.5mm x 36mm?? I know their site says its 24 x 8.5 but the distance from the perf side to the other perf side is 36 and the sample frame they show looks like it is wider than 24mm??

The film is 35mm wide so it can't be 36mm between the perforations.

The 24mm width is what would normally be the 24mm height of a standard 35mm landscape format frame.
