Default 120 film supplies Birmingham - Detroit, Mi

Dear All,

I am currently touring in the US. I am currently staying in Birmingham (loving it!!). I will be staying Fri and Sat in Detroit leaving on Sun early morning to Washington DC.
I am soon running out of film could you please recommend a supply store for C41 120 film. My internet search proved unsuccessful. I would like to buy the film in Birmingham or Detroit.

Also, any recommendations for urban landscape photography in Detroit is very welcomed.

Thank you to all.

Delphine

I wasn't sure if you meant Birmingham Michigan or Mississippi...

Detroit: The statue of Atlas holding the globe on his back? Sorry, it's been so long since I was in Detroit I forget the street names. Might be in front of a courthouse, near a big theatre, Route 10 (which has a different street name inside the city).

I just found these in a 2004 APUG post...you'd have to check if they are a still around. We've lost 2 old camera stores in Grand Rapids in the last couple years.

In the suburbs:
Adray Camera
1905 E Big Beaver, Troy
248 689-9500

Century camera
30533 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak
248 288-5444

Nathan Camera
28822 Woodward, Royal Oak
248 399-8886

Woodward Camera
33501 Woodward Ave, Birmingham
248 642-1985

Woodward Camera is closest to downtown B-ham its on old Woodward (hunter) south of downtown just prior to where hunter and Woodward meet. Century Camera is next closest between 12 mile and 13 mile roads on Woodward (be forewarned some who work the counter failed charm school). As a point of reference Maple road is or would be 15mile road and maple and Woodward is downtown Birmingham. You're in my old haunt. I had a business in Birmingham for 9 years. Adray on Big beaver ( could be called 16 mile road) will have the best selection, but is a bit further out -- 1 mile north but about 4 or 5 miles east. Nathan (whose real name was tom) closed about 4 or 5 years ago.

PM me if you want any suggestions on things to do...

Urban landscape in detroit is best done with someone who knows the area. Up and down woodward, but south of highland park is fairly safe, but find a local if you can.

Please note Adray's Troy store has closed.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Century Camera is also closed down. Your best bets are:

http://www.cameramartinc.com/scripts...art/contact.pl and http://www.woodwardcamera.com/

JD probably knows Detroit a lot better than I do and I'm sure he'll have wonderful suggestions. I like to shoot in the Detroit area but have only done it a handful of times and usually at night (with someone else). I live about 45 miles (72 km) from D-town.

Attached is a lousy scan of Detroit I shot from Windsor, Ontario (the other side of the Detroit River).

Adray is the place. Very near my home in Dearborn. Been doing urban landscapes in Detroit since I can remember. Happy to help out. Currently at my place in Northern Michigan, but will be back on Friday for the weekend. PM me if I can be of service. I'd be happy to guide you to a few spots if interested. BTW... Belle Isle is excellent for UL in this area. Island park in Detroit River. HERE is a link to some of my work there that may help. The site is very old, but should still give you an idea of what is there.

Have fun and be safe!
