    My thoughts, exactly!

Congratulations, Diane! Enjoy your new camera, and share some pics of and from the camera.

    Great news, Diane!

One of your previous posts made me think on going 5x12 and not 7x17 but it will be the bigger size :-)

    Have fun,

Diane, I can understand how you feel right now, although on a much, smaller scale. I just got a 6x12 back for my camera. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of your magic behind the lens.

Good for you Diane. I think you were looking when I joined APUG. That was a long search. Congratulations.

Congrats, Diane! That sounds like a very portable format, and Canhams are great cameras.

    5x12" sounds like a great format - kind of like a super-long 5x7"

And it's half of a 10x12", the closest inch-equivalent to the 24x30cm camera I have learned to love even if I have only taken one picture with it (and that's when I found all the light leaks). I'll see if the bottom half of the negative is usable, so I can get an idea of what you format is like!

What lenses have you got/are you planning to get for using with the new camera?

Well done Diane, I think 5x12 is a great format! I know just how you feel, I'm making friends with my 7x17 that I've only had for a few days.

Of course! But I have a dentist appt. today and it's supposed to rain this afternoon. I will practice opening and closing the camera to get a better feel for the process in the meantime. I plan to get some lenses onto lens boards and play with it inside too.
