After reading the article on film holders by Michael Mutmansky in the current View Camera, found what I consider the most appropriate description of these various formats. Michael refers to them as Exotic Large Format or ELF, which pretty much covers it for me. This would include the 5x8,5x12, 7x11, 10x12, etc.

exotic like a hula lady in a grass skirt and coconut bikini?
thats hot.
-
sounds a lot more interesting than LF or ULF doesn't it
-
UFL= 11X14 and larger (my 2 cents worth)
-
I would agree that it is anything larger than 8x10. Also if you can't find a backpack big enough to carry it in! 11x14 and yp.

Ah who cares it's all fun
To me LF requires a view type camera and shoots sheet film ULF just a huge LF I'd say 11X14.
-
It starts at 10x12 and up and thats all!
