Default Coated Plate Emulsion Shelf life?

Is there anyone here who shoots with glass dryplates from homemade emulsion coated plates?
My question concerns how long after coating a plate will it keep well for actually shooting in camera?
A lot of time spent on the coating process and then something comes up and I can't shoot that day or week - will the plates still be good for a couple of more weeks?
thank you,
Robert Newcomb

I've shot plates that were a coated a year before, with little apparent change from when they were new. They were kept dry and in the holders. Only problem was adhesion of the emulsion to the dark slide on a couple, but it was on a holder I forgot in the truck through the Texas summer.
